Biography

Trumpet player and educator, Max Harrington is originally from the rugged plains and desert paradise of Rock Springs, Wyoming. His warm tone blends well in both jazz and classical ensembles.

Like so many others across America, he began playing trumpet in the public school system in the sixth grade.  It wasn’t until he heard Wynton Marsalis’s life changing sound at eighteen did he realize that he wanted to pursue a career in the field and has dedicated his life to music ever since.

A relentless music advocate, he taught middle school band in Rawlins, Wyoming as well as 5-12 band in Klamath Falls, Oregon.  He has studied trumpet with Dr. Neil Hansen at Northwest Community College, Dr. Tom Photenhauer and Dr. Scott Meredith at the University of Wyoming and most recently studied trumpet with Dr. David Turnbull at Washington State University where he earned his Masters of Music in Trumpet Performance.
